I’ve owned my 2014 Kawasaki Z1000 since new. No problems at all and still a blast to ride. Hands down the Z1000 is a sexier bike than the MT10.

The Ninja 400 is a touring naked with fairings not designed to be pushed unless you don't care about your insurance premium. The RC 390 is almost a pure bred track toy. Totally different rigidity in chassis. Test rode an RC the other day and the suspension is simultaneously stiffer and more comfortable; upgrading the Ninja would cost at least 1k forks and shock which removes it from the equation especially given the RC's lean sensitive TC and ABS.

I’m 5’1 with a 27 inseam and I’m nervous about if I can fit comfortably on it. I’ve been between this bike and the Vulcan S for a few weeks because that one is definitely better for my height/inseam (however I did find out that bike is like 100 pounds heavier, and I barely have any strength). My main 2 concerns though is how well I’ll be able to reach the ground with my feet and if sitting normally (more tucked because of my height) ends up getting kind of uncomfortable (and also how long I can ride before needing to stretch and such). Besides actually sitting on the bikes and adjusting everything though, I still have about a year to grow, so hopefully I’ll gain an inch or two or more. I haven’t lost hope yet!

This is the bike I have 😁 I love it. Very beginner friendly but still has guts and balls to keep with a progressed rider. I didn’t want to have to keep changing bikes while I learned. The 600 was just a bit much for me. I’m 5’4, 130lb female. I did lower the bike (I was on the very balls of my feet and really wanted to be flat. I’m most likely going to be raising it though because supposedly it affects the drive and can be dangerous).

  • @amandareed8989

Love this video. I have a ninja 500. 5’4 and 130lb (American 🤷‍♀️) I feel like a giant on the bike but it’s huge when I’m off it haha. I did shorten it 1.5 inches because I wanted to flat foot where I’m a new rider. I will be raising the bike as I get more and more comfortable. I’m not too excited about not being flat but lowering the bike is supposedly dangerous (so many different perspectives).

I started ona 400 and i just couldnt do it, i joined my homies group and they just cant ripping it and it was so like 😢 when i was full throttle getting passed by nisan altimas and lifted trucks. So like after 2 months i switched to a 600 and idk if im just different but to me thats kike a perfect starter bike, not to fast not to slow and it handles really good( r6) and you csn ride with the homies without them having to limit so you can be around

Busa is a supeb bike to ride. Can not fault the power, the handling, the comfort. Cant fault none of it. But it's fuggly, i mean really fuggly. And it only got fugglier. When riding it, you dont see the fuggliness. But when you get off and look at it? The only fault I have with the ZZR14, is the bars need to be an inch higher. I would have the ZZR over the busa. But i would have a ZZR1100C over a ZZR14

Fuck Yamaha lol. Naming this bike the R7 is BS! I had a 2014 Ninja 650 that was fun at first but became slow after half a summer (have ridden bikes and dirtbikes since I was 6). I sold it and years later in a bike shop I almost signed for a new R7. When the sales guy was doing the paperwork he asked what other bikes I’ve had and I mentioned I have a Vrod and I had a Ninja 650 a few years back but got bored quick with it. Thankfully he was honest and mentioned that the R7’s power is just like the Ninja 650, and that just cause the name is R7, it’s nothing like the R6! I completely assumed I was getting an R6 with an additional 100cc’s. If I would have bought that thing I woulda been hunting down the Yamaha engineers that named it the R7! I immediately apologized for wasting the guys time…. then went home with a 18k dollar Can-am side by side. The wife wasn’t amused LOL!

Got a 2019 model, did about 290km, from Brissy to Hervey Bay, trip up stopped twice, once for breaky & the other for fuel & trip back, just stopped once half way for fuel again Imo this bike does everything well, it's comfortable yet also sporty, it's a 1000cc chonker, but nothing insanely powerful like a ZX10 or R1, just wish they kept the dual exhaust in the newer models like they did with my 2019 one

What I’ve learned is don’t stop in the center of the lane. As you approach the intersection take note of the cut out lines in the road where the wire sensors are to the left and right portion of the lane and stop directly above it as opposed to stopping in between them. Doing so gives you a better chance of the magnetic sensor detecting you.

For the first two years of riding? Definitely a full-face. Anticipation and experience won’t be as sharp as it should be and lower speed accidents (ie: faceplanting on the hood of the car because you dumped the clutch like an idiot) might happen. But then, if you’re like me, you’ll discover the comfort and the visibility of an open helmet. Fact is: you see better, you hear better and you’re much more able to ride with complete awareness with an open helmet. Québec has a clever way to do it. For the first year, you have an “apprentice” license. Three rules: you can’t drive between midnight and 5AM, you can’t have passengers and you can’t wear an open face helmet. Then you get your official license and you can do whatever you want within the rules. Personally, I have both an open face and a full face. One specific reason: weather. I HATE being stung in the face by rain droplets while riding high speed. If I have more than an hour of riding to make, especially on the highway, I’ll grab my dear Bell Eliminator with proper ear plugs. Less than an hour and riding around town? Definitely the open face. The visibility and the fact you are much more in control visually is very important, especially since I live in a neighborhood where there are a lot of elders who, let’s be honest while respectful, don’t see or ear as well as they once did. Therefore, I want all my attention on them and not on the bug that’s stuck in my visor. This open face/full face debate isn’t a reasonable one: you simply wear what better fits you, simple.

The motorcycle’s today are great , but have exceeded the price a LOT of people cannot pay. Maybe a single guy with few obligations can swing the purchase price, but anybody with a family find this as a no-can-do proposition. This is a secondary concern when faced with car payments, braces, travel sports, groceries and gas, but COULD be doable if the damn things weren’t so freaking high! A putt putt is $8000, a fun runabout is 12k and a sport bike with some balls is $15 and up. That’s a used car for son or daughter. COVID’s non-ending repercussions have sucked the life out of ANYTHING fun, and our society, companies and distributors have all jumped on the bandwagon to further drive the spike in !! When is enough ENOUGH??!!

Awesome comparison. In our garage as 1 of our 4 motorcycles is a 2021 Indian Scout Bobber and I was actually looking at a 2023 Harley Sportster S to add to our collection. I am actually pretty impressed with Harley on the engine numbers, Color TFT Display and tech on this motorcycle and I have never been a harley fan. Just fyi, the new 2025 Indian Scout with the tech package has almost the same TFT display options as the 2023 Harley Sportster S.
